Information you choose to capture
Only after you click Capture this page, the extension reads the active webpage’s title, product or description metadata, selected non-form text, page address, computed page colors, font families and a candidate image URL. It also handles the brand name, product notes, audience and visual direction you enter. These are website content and the address of a page you choose to clip; they can include personal information if you choose such a page. Do not clip sensitive information you do not intend to keep.
The source page address is stored without its query string or fragment. Image-reference URLs may include parameters supplied by the page. The extension does not read the browser history database, other tabs’ contents, cookies, passwords or form field values. It does not perform background capture or record keystrokes.
Local storage and deletion
Captured drafts remain in the popup until closed unless you save them. Saved briefs are stored in chrome.storage.local, limited to 20 briefs in this browser profile. They are not synced to a Brandfolia server or another device. Remove individual briefs in the extension. Uninstalling removes the extension’s local storage; Chrome or operating-system backup behavior is outside this extension’s control. Exported Markdown and JSON files and copied clipboard text are under your control and must be deleted separately.
Optional transfer to Brandfolia
Clicking Review in Brandfolia places only your edited brand name, product notes, audience, visual direction and selected color/font references in a URL fragment and opens https://brandfolia.com/studio/. Source-page and image-reference URLs are not included. The fragment is not part of the HTTP request sent to the website. The studio reads and removes it from the address bar and asks you to apply or discard the brief. Browser history or session restoration may retain navigation data.
Applying the brief keeps it in the studio’s browser session storage so you can continue through sign-in. It does not start AI processing. If you later request AI analysis or save a project, the Brandfolia website privacy policy applies: Cloudflare handles hosting and analysis, Clerk handles account authentication, and optional image generation uses Packy and its upstream provider. Those actions require the separate studio controls and processing consent. The extension itself makes no AI requests.
Other destinations you choose
Opening a source image link contacts that image’s host in a new browser tab. Opening help, privacy or pricing contacts the Brandfolia website. Normal hosting/security processing and the website’s optional usage counts then apply. The extension does not load remote images in its popup and includes no analytics, advertising, remote executable code or data-sale integration.
Permissions and limited use
activeTab provides temporary access to the page you invoke the extension on. scripting runs the packaged metadata/style reader after capture is clicked. storage saves briefs locally. No persistent host permissions are requested.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only for the disclosed clipping, editing, saving, export and optional studio-handoff functions. It is not sold, used for advertising or used for creditworthiness or lending decisions.
